An attack on one researcher is an attack on all. Because Prof. Ho's work is internationally known and respected, these events have drawn global attention to what will happen and to the individuals and groups involved.

I have known Prof. Ho at a distance as an articulate if unorthodox scholar. The latter accounts for her courage as well as originality. These are qualities that need to be cherished and defended.

The value of Dr. Ho's research might not be immediately visible to all, but after breaking down taboos and barriers people will come to realize that ignorance or denial of a subject is indeed the most harmful way to deal with it. Allowing this information to be seen is not a personal show of support, but an admittance of its existence.

Dear Taiwanese Government officials,I hope you're well. As a Taiwanese borned living in the U.S. This past April, I visited Taiwan for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised by the liberation of Taiwanese people by the progressive government. I had comtemplated to return to live in Taiwan and support the current progressive government with my vote. However,I am sadden to hear that Josephine Ho is being attacked because of her sexual orientation. As once the Taiwanese government officials were persecuted for being Taiwanese when Chen Kai Shek brutally killed many students and took over the country. Why are we attacking our own people for just being who they are? As some Taiwanese people are ready to declare independence, wouldn't it be a stronger voice when people are accepted for who they are to declare a separate and independent identity for the country?  May peace be with you, chris lien.

The works of public/feminist intellectual involve saying things unsayable and representing things representable. By doing so, she opens up a space so far clouded by the knowledge in dominance. Josephine Ho's works are exemplary in this regard. I oppose any form of oppression to stop this intellectual movement.
