授課內容：

隱私（privacy）是什麼？隱私與親密（intimacy）的關係是什麼？構成隱私的判準是什麼？法律上的隱私權可否成立？有隱私但隱私權被侵害可能嗎？隱私有什麼價值嗎？「尊重隱私」這個觀念和人的尊嚴、社會自由、人際交往有什麼關係？在道德上可否有隱私的權利？「隱私」是否能成為一個完整一致的道德範疇，亦即，對於隱私的分析或維護，是否可以還原到很多不同的價值與議題（如財產所有權等等），而無須將隱私視為一個本身特殊的獨立範疇？還有，人們對隱私或隱私權的需要會不會只是因為社會本身在某方面的壓迫，所以重要的是改變那些壓迫？隱私是否反而使人心理脆弱容易受害、或使人產生反社會的態度？保護與認可隱私的制度機構的社會功能為何？隱私是否為社會－文化的產物、其內容是相對於特定歷史－文化的？隱私問題在當代的性或親密問題中，如同志或AIDS的（被）出櫃，有什麼複雜的糾葛。最後，本課程將隱私問題放在「監視規訓／現代性」的社會理論架構下考察：Weber﹐Foucault﹐Giddens對這個問題的看法是什麼？隱私－監視規訓－現代性的關連是什麼？以上便是本課程要討論的問題。 |
