Queer Tendencies: Sexual Transformations of Postmodernity
酷兒傾向：後現代之性轉化

    This paper argues that the homosexual/heterosexual binary which characterises modernity is currently undergoing intense challenge and destabilization in the western world.
    The paper begins by locating its argument within contemporary social theories of postmodernity, referring in particular to three inter-related processes of social change: the enhancement of reflexivity; individualization, and de-traditionalization.
    I then identify three 'queer tendencies' within postmodernity--social processes which call into question the normativity and naturalness of heterosexuality and hetero-relationality. These queer tendencies are:
    • the social and cultural decentering of heterorelations
    • the emergence of heterosexual reflexivity
    • the cultural valorizing of 'the queer'
    The paper is illustrated with examples from the United Kingdom.
    這篇論文指出，作為現代特徵的同性戀／異性戀二元結構，目前在西方世界正經歷著強烈的挑戰和動搖。
    這篇論文將以當下的後現代社會理論起始，特別指向三個交錯相連的社會變化過程：反射性(reflexivity)的提高、個人化、和去傳統化。
    接著，我將指出後現代社會過程中的三個「酷兒趨勢」，這三個趨勢質疑了異性戀性慾及異性戀關係的規範性及自然性。這些酷兒趨勢包括：
    • 異性戀關係的社會及文化「去中心化」
    • 異性戀反射性的浮現
    • 「酷兒」的文化貫注
    本論文將主要以英國的例證說明。
