Thanks to the great efforts by the Film Center of NCU, and with seats donated by the outgoing 福和theater, NCU now has the only on-campus movie theater among all universities in Taiwan. Because of its strong connection with the academic world, 107 cinema has been privileged to host various exclusive premieres, such as The Darjeeling Limited which is screened only here.
I worked as a receptionist for 107 cinema for a while, and it’s a great way to get behind the scenes and see how the cinema operates. From Tuesday to Thursday, the theatre shows films on its 35 mm projector and, believe me, it’s quite enjoyable just watching the films roll. To attract viewers, the theatre offers a lot of good deals from time to time. It may invite well-known directors to give talks and share their insights on film-making. This is a great chance for fans to get up and close to their favorite directors. 107 also organizes a variety of film festivals with different themes.
