流浪狗問題 Doggie Problems

NCU, with its tall handsome trees and its lovely lawns, is quite a popular place for picnics and fields trips for residents who live in Chung-Li. Elderly couples are often seen walking hand in hand or doing minor exercises around the campus; parents would bring their children to the campus on weekends for some quality family time together, and young unmarried couples often sit under the trees for romantic talks. Nevertheless, with the enormous college grounds and natural habitat, NCU is apparently also a paradise for people who decide to abandon their dogs.

For those who have the heart to "free their dogs", they have no moral ethics and could not care less about anything or anyone but their own selfish being. What they do is pretend to take their soon-to-be deserted dogs out for a walk as usual, command them to stay in a certain place, and then quickly leave the scene. If the act was well accomplished, then these inhuman beings would be able to walk out of the campus burden-free while their helpless dogs keep circling and looking for their long-gone owners. Therefore, when they return to school after a weekend, students often find two to three unfamiliar but well-groomed dogs running around campus. As the number of dogs grows bigger and bigger, a group of students and teachers began to take action and formed an organization known as the "Home of the Doggies" to take care of these homeless dogs since untamed and wild dogs will eventually bring a hazardous environment for the entire student body.

The "Home of the Doggies" is only nine months old and was established with the ultimate goal that there would be no tramps on the campus one day. These caring members who belong to the organization agree that there should not be any wild dogs on campus, yet they are very much against using immoral methods to execute these abandoned dogs. As a result, they take care of the dogs until they can find warm loving homes for these poor dogs. These volunteers would feed, wash, and give these doggies shots so that they could stay in healthy conditions for adaptation; it is through these methods that they wish to bring the school minimum damage. And hopefully, with their efforts and the help of fellow students, NCU will be able to have a tramp-free environment in the near future.

What the "Home of the Doggies" is dealing with is not just homeless dogs but a bigger and more important issue about human kind. After all, there wouldn't even be any tramps running around if humans weren't that selfish and irresponsible. Unless people change their perspectives and place more importance on environmental matters and animal protection, no matter how hard the protection groups take care of the homeless dogs, the problem will always exist.
