The largest and most popular “city park” in Chungli happens to be none other than the NCU campus. With its densely-wooded campus and flourishing lawns, the campus not only serves as a peaceful learning environment for its students, but also provides visitors with endless lovely and refreshing scenery. And as wedding pictures became a big business in Taiwan, many soon-to-be-wed couples choose the NCU campus as the setting in which their wedding memories are to be framed.

On any beautiful day, the campus is always dotted with the presence of quite a few brides in white gowns, with their grooms in nice tuxedo suits, and a crew of photographers. Instead of bridal showers or bachelor parties, Taiwanese tend to prefer a commemorative photo album to preserve the sweet memories of this special moment for future recollection. The brides-to-be and grooms-to-be would stage various poses at various scenic spots under the instruction of photographers, and students and staff who pass by can only smile and send along their best wishes for the new couples.

The top five most popular spots for photo shooting are: the narrow path lined with pine trees, the huge green lawns, the Chung-Da Lake, the Chung-Da Road lined with tall silk-cotten trees, and the lovers’ path along the road encircling the campus. As symbols of evergreen perseverance, the pine trees are often favored by the couples as testimony of their love. The vast beautiful lawns, on the other hand, symbolize an open and promising future, and new couples always spread out the trails of the wedding gowns to highlight the vastness. At the Chung-da Lake, the sun shines upon the lake and the emerald trees, creating an amazingly romantic spot for wedding pictures. And during March and April, the silk cottons planted along the Chung-da Rd. bloom in flaming-red flowers, bestowing good wishes on the new couples. As to the two-kilometer-long lovers’ path under the heavy shades of pine shades, couples find a quiet and undisturbed space to share their moments of private joy.

It is not clear whether new couples who had their wedding pictures taken on NCU campus end up living happily ever after, but the university is more than happy to provide its sceneries to send them on their new life together with best wishes.
