觀音海水浴場 Guan-Yin Beach

Taiwan being an island, you are never too far away from the ocean. If you are looking for sunlight, breeze and crashing waves, the closest beach for Chungli city would be Guan-Yin.

Guan-Yin Beach is less known for swimming than for its coastal scenery. The beach has not been well-taken care of, so it is really not good for swimming. Yet there is a beautiful White-Dust Tower standing tall near the beach and artists have also done a series of wall-paintings on the inside wall of the breakwater, depicting all kinds of sea creatures. Lovers often walk along the beach at sundown while villagers puts out little food stands selling oyster pancakes. In addition, the age-old temple in downtown Guan-Yin is also quite famous and attracts a lot of believers every year. That's why the county government intends to build the beach into a multi-purpose tourist area; it is called "The Blue (Coastal) Highway." As you can see, there are a lot of constructions going on now and we are hoping Guan-Yin will be even more beautiful in the near future.
