As the wave of internationalization sweeps across the world, the PR Team at NCU is established to help our university further situate itself within this global village for the 21st century. The team views itself as an important bridge between the university and its visitors. As such, we are devoted to helping the university convey its efforts and achievements to the visitors, while providing the visitors with a most informative as well as comfortable interaction with our community. And in the process, we, as students in the English Department, will also acquire invaluable opportunities of practice in dealing with such international contexts.

Members

The PR team of National Central University is a voluntary and student-conducted organization with most of its members coming from the English department. All of us can speak English very fluently and are quite comfortable switching between Chinese and English. In order to provide satisfactory and professional service, every member has passed through a period of strict and intense training. Many of us already have worked as receptionists and interpreters, and we believe that, by offering our professional skills and amiable attitudes, we can not only further develop our own competence as students but also deliver a much-needed service for both our university and our community.

Servcies

We provide a wide range of flexible services:

1. Reception:

For any kind of conference, we provide services such as receiving guests, showing them to their living quarters, orchestrating conference procedure, running all kinds of errands, or providing information.

2. Campus Sightseeing:

We are prepared and trained for walking tours around campus. Information concerning the history, the function, and the meaning of every significant location on campus will be conveyed to the guests in the most amiable atmosphere. If limited by time, we can also provide custom-made tours of select spots.

3. City Tour:

Chungli city itself is a microcosm of Taiwan, with its rural-industrial combination life style, plus a vibrant consumer economy. We can provide guided tours throughout the city as well as the countryside. Scenic spots such as the Yuan-Guang Buddhist Temple and the Lotus Gardens of Guan-Yin will be included.

4. Translation / Interpretation:

Members of the NCU PR team can provide Chinese-English or English-Chinese translation work either orally or in the written form. Select members can also help with instantaneous interpretation for conferences or other functions.

Charges

Hourly wages at the going rate of regular work-study will be charged for all services provided.
