2001年春季 性/別理論專題:現代浪漫愛危機(Love and Modernity)
Jo Ho (Office: A210; Office Hours: Wed 2-5)

This is a seminar that investigates the transformation of romantic love within the modernist dynamic, in other words, a socio-historical study of the changing meaning and significance of romantic love in the modern age. Students are required to keep up with weekly readings, make oral presentations in class, and participate in class discussions. There will be a mid-term paper required, which deals with one aspect of romantic love in the Taiwanese or Chinese context (written in Chinese, 3000 to 5000 words). Final papers must be done in English according to all scholarly requirements (10-15 pages). Topics must be approved by the instructor beforehand. No late papers will be accepted.
