God is Fair

莊茵喻

God works in mysterious ways.  He may have created different and unequal social classes but the classes are not always what they seem.

To begin with, the rich are not always happy; the poor aren』t always miserable, either.  The rich have to worry about the fluctuation of stocks, choice of restaurants to eat at, or their over-crowded schedule.  In contrast, the poor have fewer things to worry about.  Any simple happiness can satisfy them, and all they want is sufficient food and safety for all their family.

Still, the differences between social classes motivate people to long for a better life.  The people in the lower stratum are eager to make efforts to fulfill their dreams of belonging to the upper class.  They want to lead an abundant life and keep away from their former days.  The people in the upper class, on the other hand, would like to go back to the old days and live a simpler life.  Their daily routines are occupied with too many conferences; they don』t have time for themselves to do what they want to do.  A simple life is a luxury for them.

That』s why God really works in mysterious ways: no class can see the whole picture.
