Urban-legends—they are not officially proven, but many people still
spread them as true stories. Some of them are only apparent fictitious
stories, or superstitious beliefs; we can see through the falseness of
these legends very easily. That』s why no one cares whether they』re true
or not. However, there are always some bizarre urban legends that will
make your hair stand on its end.
This legend took place in Macao. There used to be a food stall named
Bar-Sin in one of the crowded streets in the Northern part of Macao.
Many people who had finished their morning-exercises in the park would
queue up in the long line every morning to buy breakfast from that stall
because its steamed buns were well known. There were two flavors--
vegetables and meats.
One day, a man bought two delicious steamed pork buns from Bar-sin. As
he bit into one of them, he found a piece of hair. He was curious but
paid little attention to that; he only thought that it』s the hair of one
of the staffs in that stall. But when he started to eat the second bun,
he found a piece of fingernail emerging from the bun. The man was
shocked; he thought the hygiene of the stall was awful. He phoned the
Bureau Of Public Health and made his complaints. The officials told him
that they had already heard of these complaints for several times since
many people had phoned and complained about the same problems in recent
days. And the official promised that they』d go and inspect that stall
immediately.
On this very day, many people were still lining up to buy the steamed
buns. Suddenly, the inspectors of the Bureau Of Public Health came to
the stall to check the hygiene because of the dozens of complaints.
Having reached the kitchen, all of them were dumbfounded by what lay in
front of them. They saw a lot of blood on the table and they even found
some frozen limbs, which weren』t pig-like. After inspection, the meat
was found to be neither pork nor lamb, but the flesh of human being!
They interrogated the worker that sold the buns, but he had nothing to
say. The health officials also found a few Identify Cards of a family
under the drawer in the man』s home. The cards belonged to the owner of
the stall. Before the officials could have a chance to ask the worker
about the cards, he committed suicide while still under custody.
After investigating the case, the police finally learned that the man
used to work at the stall for the owner, and had borrowed a lot of money
from the owner. As he didn』t have enough money to pay back his debt, he
decided to kill the owner』s whole family. After the murders, he
dismembered the dead and threw the pieces away on different locations of
Macao. Later, the police continually discovered different body parts of
the family members in various places, ranging from the beaches to the
hills. Since the murderer had already killed himself, the police closed
the file. The famous stall has been closed since then and no one dared
to rent it because of this case.
The case may be officially closed, but the legend hadn』t stopped yet.
The contents of the buns were still a mystery. Were those buns really
made of the flesh of human beings? God knows. Nevertheless, this
urban-legend had been regarded as one of the most disgusting, horrible
and dreadful rumors in Macao. The important lesson here is: Be sure to
check out the content of the delicious steamed bun that you』re going to
eat; it may be made of some unexpected material.
