 letter to decline offer

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for your letter dated Sept. 3, 2004 offering me admission into your graduate program. Regretfully, I have to decline your offer at this moment.
I have given the decision a lot of thought and careful evaluation. As much as I would like to take advantage of the vitality and diversity of your department which is the most ideal learning environment for students who want to pursue advanced studies, I am forced to take the factor of location into the last instant of decision-making. Thus I have decided to pursue my studies in another school which is not too far away from my home town.
Thanks again for taking the time to meet with me and evaluate my application, and I really appreciate your kindness throughout the interview process. I only wish that circumstances allowed me to accept your admission. With best wishes for your continued achievement in academic studies,

Sincerely,

Ni-Yen Tsai
